Flower and fruit drop in trees is a natural process. However, sometimes due to environmental, nutritional, or disease-related factors, excessive dropping can occur. This can reduce the tree’s yield and negatively impact agricultural production.

Problem and Solution of Flower and Fruit Drop in plants

Tree Care for Flowering:

  1. The soil around the tree’s roots should not be allowed to dry out excessively.
  2. During the flowering period, nitrogen-rich fertilizers should not be used.
  3. Potash-based fertilizers should be applied during this time.
  4. Use Flora on the tree.
  5. If possible, use micronutrients as well.

Causes of Excessive Flower and Fruit Drop:

  1. No spraying should be done during the pollination period.
  2. If the daytime temperature exceeds 30°C.
  3. If the night temperature falls below 16°C.
  4. If there is a deficiency of boron fertilizer.
  5. Fungal infections.
  6. Excessive rainfall and strong winds or storms.
  7. Pest attacks and nutritional deficiencies.
  8. Waterlogging around the base of the tree.
  9. Inadequate pollination.

Solutions:

  1. After heavy rainfall, ensure that water does not accumulate around the base of the tree.
  2. Apply necessary fertilizers to address the tree’s nutritional deficiencies.
  3. Take preventive measures and follow up if there is a pest infestation.
  4. Do not apply pesticides during pollination.
  5. You can use Gibberellic acid during this time.
  6. Use boron fertilizer, even in small amounts, if necessary.
  7. Spray water during excessive heat.
  8. Provide shade if needed.
  9. Attract bees for proper pollination.

Regular care should be given to reduce flower and fruit drop. By following the scientific methods mentioned, the yield will increase, and the tree will remain healthy.
