Indian actress-presenter Shina Chauhan has starred in Netflix’s ‘The Fame Game’ web series. In it, she was seen with Bollywood superstar Madhuri Dixit. This time she acted in a Hollywood movie. In addition to this, Shina is very popular due to the human rights program ‘Born Free and Equal’. The star is known in Bangladesh for presenting BPL cricket programs. He gave an interview about these issues.

So, here is the interview of Shina Chauhan

Question: Very first, I want to hear about the Born Free and Equal program.

Shina Chauhan:Through this, I have spread the message of human rights to more than 100 million people in India. This is a podcast of the Habhapar app. In each 30-45 minute episode, we discussed fundamental rights and equality with a number of popular actors and producers in Indian cinema. In each episode, the stars tell inspiring stories of their lives about different rights. At the same time, we have provided practical information on how those rights work in human life and have highlighted relevant recent events. Sonakshi Sinha on the right to education and Ravina Tandon on the right to a favorable and free world. Besides, Preity Zinta, Nandita Das, Sanu Sood, Sanjana Sangi, Imtiaz Ali, R. Many people including Balki and Guneet Manga have taken part in this campaign. Our media partner is Raindrop Media, its founder is Rohini Iyer.

Question: 30 Bollywood stars have taken part in a campaign to raise awareness about the 30 rights of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Shina Chauhan:I would say, every star has revived the rights! So far we’ve done 14 podcasts and in each one, the stars have discussed why human rights are important. At the same time they say the way these have influenced and inspired them. They inspire why and how everyone can exercise these rights in their own lives. The stars have been promoting these podcasts on social media, which has been very helpful in raising awareness. Some stars have expressed their desire to participate in such an important event in the future.

Question: You work as an advocate for human rights education and awareness-raising. You are the only Indian actress who has won the Hero Award at the UN. What is your motivation for defending human rights?

Shina Chauhan: The UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights clearly states how everyone expects respect as human beings under the law and what is the responsibility towards each other. So the first step to getting rid of reprimand is to understand your rights. If you know your rights, you will have the basis to stand up for others. Because, you know, the respect you expect is backed by an important international treaty. We all understand the importance of education, but human rights education is more important than any other education. Because it teaches us the perfect rules for living on earth. The Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina has played a significant role in the education of girls and women. My humble call to him is to make human rights education compulsory in Bangladesh. Through this, his excellent activities can be further strengthened. We have a free online course through which anyone can get detailed information about their rights.

Question: Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit has acted in Netflix’s ‘The Fame Game’ series. How was that experience?

Shina Chauhan: It was great to work with Madhuri Dixit. I learned a lot from him. As can be seen in one scene, bad news has been printed around him. Then I assured him to bring the matter under control. Netflix has taken the series to another level. I like the atmosphere of the set. Everything was quite tidy and everyone was professional and quality. I got a chance to see from the front how such a big organization like Netflix manages its activities. Being a part of The Fame Game was a joy for me.

Question: How did you see Madhuri Dixit as a person in the shooting?

Shina Chauhan: Madhuri Dixit is very professional, humble, and talented. But he did not become a superstar. He has earned this honor in his own right. Madhuri Dixit is also excellent as a human being. And quite inspiring as an actor.

Question: You have seen Bangladeshi movies on Netflix before …

Shina Chauhan: I played the role of a suffering star in Mostafa Sorayar Farooqi’s ‘The Ant Story’. I worked as a PR manager for a troubled superstar in The Fame Game. ‘The Ant Story’ has been featured on Netflix. It was great to be able to return to the international audience at the same OTT through the ‘The Fame Game’ series.

Question: Have you talked about any new work in Bangladesh?

Shina Chauhan: Several issues are under discussion. I want to work in Bangladeshi film again. It would be great to be able to visit friends in Dhaka and shoot there. I love the people of Bangladesh, their culture, and their food.

Question: Tell us about your character in Disney Plus Hotstar’s ‘Lockdown May Breakdown’ series.
Shina Chauhan: I played the role of a hardworking technician. The girl breaks up with her lazy and indifferent boyfriend. But the lockdown started when he told the boy to leave to get relief and they got stuck in the house together. The eight-episode web series will be released next month (April). It is directed by Vibhav Ametha. He was Sinha’s assistant for a long time.

‘Lockdown May Breakdown’ is a comedy series, with which everyone can find their involvement. Because we’ve had the same problem lately. However, the whole matter has been shown lightly in the eyes of unstable love.

Question: Are you excited about any other work?
Shina Chauhan: Another actress from the series ‘The Fame Game’ Rajshree Deshpande and I have acted in a movie called ‘Justice’. It will soon go to an international film festival. This is the last film of Bengali director Bappaditya Bandyopadhyay. I can be seen in the character of a very unusual woman. Looking for a coffin works strangely to the death of the girl. The matter is quite surreal. I have used stage drama to enhance the character. We shot at Mausinram in Meghalaya, the rainiest village in the world. The film has a deep message about the environment, so I look forward to sharing this character with the world.

Question: Recently shot Hollywood movie ‘Nomad’ …
Shina Chauhan: Taroon Lexton is directing the sci-fi time travel story. He is a young talented producer. Nomad has been shot on seven continents and in 26 countries. I went to Los Angeles for work on some scenes. After that, he had to shoot twice in Florida, another state in America. Various pictures of Taron Lexton have accelerated the human rights movement. Through his pictures, the message of raising human rights awareness has been spread to millions of people. So I found the connection of my mentality with him. He is directing my first film in Hollywood, what could be happier than this!
