Kimberly, director of the Extension Food Program and Safety at Clemson University, said there is no health risk if bread is refrigerated. However, the taste of the bread is changed due to refrigeration. Bread loses moisture. The soft part of the bread freezes in the cold air of the fridge. As a result, the bread becomes dry and hard and loses its natural taste.
How to preserve bread?
If the bread is made at home, keep it out of the fridge in an air-tight box for 3 to 5 days. In the case of purchased bread, you can keep it at room temperature for 7 days or till it expires.
Bread can be refrigerated for up to 6 months but stored properly.
Wrap the bread in thin plastic according to the pieces and wrap them with foil paper.
However, if you want to eat fresh bread, eat it without keeping it in the fridge within the time limit.
