Trump’s biggest ‘rival’ is now the economy

The US economy is in dire straits. Unemployment is rising at an unimaginable rate. Consumer spending has suddenly skyrocketed. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is on the decline. History testifies that every time there has been such an economic catastrophe in American history, it has been a catastrophe for a Gaddafi president awaiting re-election. Exactly the same situation now with Donald Trump.

There are only six months left before the presidential election in America. In this situation, the whole of America should be involved in the election campaign and political activities. Republican and Democratic leaders are pitted against each other. In this fight, the current President Donald Trump intends to capitalize on the positive trend that has prevailed in the US economy over the past few years. But Corona turned everything upside down. The economy, which he thought would be his biggest weapon, is now his biggest weakness.
The steps taken by the former Barack Obama administration to overcome the economic downturn of the last decade in the United States began to pay off in 2014. Since coming to power in 2016, Donald Trump has been describing these benefits as his own success. He was touting the record drop in unemployment as his biggest achievement. But in the crisis caused by the coronavirus, this success has turned into a huge failure. In just a few months, more than four crore people have become new unemployed in America. A large portion of small businesses have closed or are waiting to go. Conflict with China, showing the backs of Europe’s allies, could all stand in the way of overcoming the crisis at the earliest.

The recession caused by the coronavirus could be the biggest obstacle to Donald Trump’s victory in the upcoming presidential election. The Oxford Economics forecast on May 20 said Trump could face a historic defeat in the November presidential election simply because of the economic downturn. It said only 35 percent of voters could vote for the incumbent president. In its latest forecast before the start of the economic downturn caused by the Corona, the agency said Trump would get 55 percent of the vote if elected.

Oxford Economics’ predictions for the popular vote have rarely been wrong. Although the predictions were correct in the case of Donald Trump and former President George W. Bush, they were both elected president. The model of this forecast is based on various economic indicators. And now this foundation is very shaky. Unemployment rate is more than 13 percent, per capita income has dropped to 6 percent, the money market is also unstable. All in all, every sector of the economy is unstable.

Another state-based election forecast model made by the same organization states that Donald Trump will also lose badly in the Electoral College. It states that Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Missouri and North Carolina will lean towards Democrats.

This economy is not the only one standing against Trump in the upcoming elections. Adding to this is the failure of his administration to deal with a major crisis like the epidemic. Meanwhile, it has been reported that if the Trump administration had taken action as soon as possible, it would have been possible to save the lives of more than 30,000 people. But in the midst of all this, Trump, as always, is giving expert opinions, which is complicating the situation for him.

Donald Trump is well aware of this increasingly complex situation. Understandably, the opportunity for re-election is gradually slipping away from him. And he can’t accept it in any way. As a result, he wants to get through this time, through blaming. So sometimes China, sometimes the United Nations, sometimes the World Health Organization is not thinking twice to make a complaint against its own leadership. And while he is doing this, a very unpleasant truth is being revealed without his knowledge. And that is – there is no one to lead the Americans in such a crisis.

While Donald Trump is trying to get rid of 50 states by claiming that the situation is under control, the truth is that the spread of coronavirus is increasing in 617 states. Infection is stable in 15 states. The spread of the virus is declining in only 17 states. But Trump wants to reopen 50 states without taking this into account. The reason is to save the economy temporarily for that re-election. But that could push the economy even further, if the accounts go awry. Others may be optimistic about the way states like Texas or Florida are opening up. But if they fail, it will be the most frustrating again.

Not only that, Donald Trump has taken such a stubborn stance on the question of whether he will return to power or not, that even in such a crisis, he will not stop harassing the candidates and politicians of the opposition. His stubborn character has been exposed in a number of cases, including the lawsuit against Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, the threat to sue Democratic candidate Joe Biden and former President Barack Obama in the next election. But this time he was supposed to play a key role in establishing national unity as president. But people are seeing that this unity is being called for by leaders like Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Barack Obama.

At the best of times and at the worst of times, the responsibility of the presidency shows the way. Sometimes it is possible to lead an entire era. Not everyone gets this opportunity. Especially for those who take the helm in difficult times, it is possible to go a long way in a short time. But Donald Trump is not forgetting his dream of becoming president for another term, even in this time of one of the biggest health crises and economic crises in the history of America and the world. And because of not being able to forget this, his dream is becoming increasingly vague.

In difficult times, people basically want a leader who will reassure them, give them confidence. They want a leader who will walk with them in times of trouble. This will give you confidence that the crisis will end one day. And this self-confident leader cannot be just like that. It cannot be done by word of mouth. To become such a leader is through work. Donald Trump is doing the exact opposite this time. He is showing his weakness by showing his opponent as ‘Satan’. He is expressing his restlessness and ignorance with the wrong medicine to overcome the crisis quickly. It is as if he is telling people how selfish he is by making everything work. As a result, everyone except his blind supporters are losing confidence in him. Money in this predicament people are probably talking about moving everything. But that doesn’t mean they trust the president. On the contrary, people want to do their own thing because they can’t trust the president and his administration. Needless to say, Donald Trump’s biggest rival in America at the moment is not Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Barney Sanders or any such leader or Democratic party. The name of this rival is the economy, which is now in recession like the 1930s.
