Bottle plastic going into baby’s stomach: research

Every day millions of tiny particles of plastic from food packets, bottles, tea bags and other materials are unknowingly entering the human stomach. These plastic particles are harmful to the health of the baby.

An Irish study claims that an average of 1.7 million plastic particles enter a baby’s stomach every day through the bottle that feeds the baby.

Researchers in Ireland say they have studied 10 types of bottles and equipment made from polypropylene used to feed babies. The 21-day trial was conducted using the World Health Organization’s sterilization formula.

It has been found that 13 lakh to one crore 82 lakh plastic particles per liter of water have been mixed in bottles and equipment during this period. Although research has been done on the trend of bottle feeding in the country, it later painted a global picture.

According to an article published in the journal Nature Food, every child in the world who is bottle-fed consumes an average of 1.6 million plastic particles daily.

At a temperature of 25 to 95 degrees Celsius, there is evidence that six to five crore 50 lakh plastic particles are scattered per liter. Its horror is more in developed countries. An average of 2.3 million children consume plastic particles every day in North America and 2.8 million in Europe.

Researchers at Trinity College in Dublin said one of the aims of the study was to educate parents about the issue.

They also do not know exactly what effects eating plastic particles can have on children’s bodies. This requires detailed research.
