Diabetes patient’s foot care

The number of diabetic patients is constantly increasing in the country. These patients need to take special care in their lifestyle. Regular exercise, walking, and a balanced diet, as well as foot care, should be taken properly.

This is because diabetic patients often suffer from leg cramps. They have a much higher risk of infection and decay and amputation than others.

The complication that occurs in the legs due to diabetes is called diabetes feet as a whole.

Reasons why the risk is higher than others

1. Diabetes lowers the body’s immune system. The result is an easy bacterial infection. Pa-o is no exception.

2. When blood sugar is uncontrolled, the medium and small blood vessels in the body change, narrow, and blood flow is disrupted. As a result, blood flow to the legs is reduced, which accelerates sores or digestion.

3. As the nerves in the legs are damaged due to diabetes, the sensation decreases and the legs become fragile and are repeatedly injured. As a result, the wound becomes easily infected or decomposes and does not heal easily.

What to do

First of all, blood sugar should be kept under control. Regular blood sugar and average blood sugar tests should be taken.

Care should be taken not to injure the legs in any way. You can’t walk barefoot, you have to wear soft shoes, you can’t wear tight shoes and socks.

Need to check your feet regularly. To prevent cracking of the feet, the feet should be cleaned and moisturizing ointment should be applied. Under no circumstances should corn or anything else be cut on its own. The feet cannot be overheated.

If there is a wound or problem in the leg, you should seek medical help immediately.
