The range of activities one can enjoy in Al Khan Beach ranges from kayaking, kite surfing, parasailing to banana boat rides, fly board ride, etc. In Lou Lou’a Beach you need to book in advance to try water sports. Some other beaches one can try and visit are Khor Fakkan beaches and Al Corniche beach.
Shopping
For a slice of traditional Arab life, travel sharjah . Dating back to 1978, the Blue Souk is one of Sharjah’s most well-known places to visit and shop. Easily accessible, the blue-tiled souk has over 600 shops, selling everything from jewellery to souvenirs. Also known as the Central Market, it consists of two different sections, connected through a tunnel. A gallery full of Sharjah’s antique artefacts, including intricately designed Arabic carpets and Omani and Yemeni antique jewellery, is a must-visit here.
Another souk that is quite famous among patrons is the Souq Al Arsah. Probably the oldest market place in the UAE, it was once used as a meeting place for the Bedouins. Today the alleyways are air-conditioned and designed with solid wooden doors, beautiful coral brick walls and hanging lanterns. The souq is home to number of stores selling local, new and antique handicrafts, Arabic bridal and pearl chests, ethnic jewellery, perfumes, woven garments, medicinal herbs, carpets, shawls etc.
Heritage
The Sharjah Heritage Area is the place to be to grab a bit of history and heritage in Sharjah. The emirate boasts over 20 museums, including one dedicated to just calligraphy. This museum showcases fascinating masterpieces and creative paintings by local and international artists and calligraphers. The Art Museum — a capacious building near the Corniche — showcases one of the largest art exhibitions in the Gulf region.
The Sharjah Archaeology Museum has all the archaeological material collected in the emirate. It preserves pottery, weapons, tools, coins and other artefact that date back to the Stone Age. Head to the Al Hisn Fort for a lesson in history. Once used as the residence of the Sharjah’s ruling family, the fort houses the Sharjah Hisn Museum, which showcases about 200 years of the emirate’s history.

Try the Halwa shop in the discreet corner of the Souq Al Arsah. It will definitely tempt every passerby to taste the inimitable indigenous sweets.
