Beef with Milk recipe

Ingredients:

  • Beef – 2 kg
  • Milk – 2 liters
  • Ginger paste – 2 tbsp
  • Garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  • Cumin powder – 1 tsp
  • Green chili paste – 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
  • White pepper powder – 1 tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Oil – ½ cup
  • Chopped onions – 1 cup
  • Fried onions (beresta) – 3 tbsp
  • Yogurt – ½ cup
  • Dried plums (alu bukhara) – 6–7 pieces
  • Cinnamon sticks – 4 pieces
  • Black cardamoms – 2
  • Green cardamoms – 6
  • Cloves – 7–8
  • Bay leaves – 2
  • Sugar – 2 tsp
  • Ghee – 3 tbsp
Beef with milk recipe

Instructions:

  1. Boil 1 liter of milk until it reduces and thickens. Set aside.
  2. Wash the beef and drain well.
  3. Marinate the beef with yogurt, oil, chopped onions, whole garam masala (cinnamon, cardamoms, cloves, bay leaves), and all other spices. Let it sit for an hour.
  4. After marination, place the beef on the stove and start cooking.
  5. When the gravy reduces, add dried plums and pour hot water little by little, sautéing in between until the meat is well-browned and oil separates.
  6. Now add the remaining 1 liter of milk and cook over medium heat until the beef is tender and fully cooked.
  7. When the gravy thickens again, add the thickened milk, ghee, fried onions (beresta), sugar, and a little garam masala powder.
  8. Mix well, cook for a couple more minutes, and remove from heat.
