The weight of a female pigeon is usually 200 grams or less. So weight is a good way to identify male and female pigeons.

Toes: The way to recognize the male and female of pigeons is their toes. Usually the fingers on the side of a female pigeon are not equal to the fingers on the front. But the finger next to the male pigeon is almost equal to the front finger. The toes of male pigeons are rough and dull compared to female pigeons.

Tail test: For this, you have to hold the pigeon’s wing with your hands. In this case, keep an eye on the pigeon’s tail. If the tail is straight then the pigeon is male. And if the tail is upwards then the female pigeon.

Mating: Mating usually depends on the approval of the female pigeon. If you notice that at this time one pigeon follows another pigeon, in this case, the pigeon that follows is male and the one that followed is female. The male pigeon continues to follow the female pigeon until she accepts him as her mate.

These traits are usually more significant as a way to distinguish the differences between male and female pigeons.
