Necessary Documents : Visa of Canada from Bangladesh

Millions of people around the world dream of living in Canada permanently. Canada aims to take an average of 300,000 people from different countries of the world every year. But several applications are rejected due to lack of proper filling of application form and non-submission of original documents. Today we will know what documents are required to make an application.

  • One thing that needs to be clarified first is the spelling of the name. Many names in Bangladesh are spelled differently in different documents. There are many inconsistencies in the spelling of our names. At the beginning of someone’s name, there is only Md. Again, there is “Muhammad” in another document. All documents should have the same spelling, otherwise your application may be rejected.
  • It is important to have the same spelling of not only your name but also the name of your parents.
  • Machine readable passport of the applicant and his dependents (husband/wife, children) should be valid for at least 6 months at the time of processing. The passport should be renewed at least 6 months before the expiry date during the application process.
  • Birth certificates of applicant and his dependent must be original which are issued by the government.
  • Everyone above 18 years should have Voter ID Card or National ID Card.
  • Marriage Certificate and Nikahnama should be available for married people. In Bangladesh these document is still issued in Bengali. But if you take your Bengali document to the Kazi who conducted your marriage, he will translate it into English for a fixed fee.
  • Every educational qualification certificate and mark sheet should be credentialed. And the guidelines for credentialing are given on the official website of Immigration Canada (http://www.cic.gc.ca/).
  • Certificate of IELTS score must be submitted. Remember, if you are planning to go for a student visa, you will have to take the IELTS academic, and for almost all other visas, you will have to take the IELTS General.
  • For Visa you have to show settlement fund in your Bank. Amount of money varies in different categories. In that case, it is better to have the same amount of money that they will tell you in the form of cash in the bank. This money can be in various forms like fixed deposit, savings certificate, current account, provident fund, share market etc. Additionally, if you have gold-jewellery, property in your own name or in the name of your spouse, you can show it.
  • Work experiences is an important factor. Do not resort to any lies in this case. For example, if you or your spouse has 10 years of work experience in different organizations, separate experience certificates must be obtained for each. It is better if each certificate is one page. Each certificate must contain the name, surname, signature, address, phone number and e-mail address of the person issuing you this certificate. Remember, most of the time the Singapore office of Canadian Immigration will inquire about your employment. Some personnel may come from Singapore in person to visit the office and expects your presence.
  • In many cases you need to send a one-page letter to document why you are eligible to immigrate to Canada. Before writing that letter, reserach about the job market in Canada. The letter will focus on what you can contribute to the Canadian job market based on your previous experiences in Bangladesh in line with your educational qualifications.
  • If you do not have enough confidence in writing, you can take help of some professional writer.
  • Police clearance is also required. You have to apply through your local police station. In the case of Bangladesh, follow the guidelines given on the Canadian government website.
  • Your Facebook and other social media will be checked by Canada’s immigration department. In that case, the information provided by you must match the personal information of your social media profile.
  • The photocopies of the documents must be notarized; However, the original copy of the document (bank statement) is not required to be notarized.
  • Don’t submit any false papers. The Canadian immigration department will somehow find out the authenticity of your documents.
