What is really the Korean TV series Hellbound about?

The new sensation among the Korean TV series is Hellbound. It is gaining tremendous attention and popularity now at Netflix. And, we tried to figure out what is Hellbound about.

So, what is Hellbound about? Is there any religious connection?

First of all, It is seems to be a futuristic dystopian sci-fi series, Then some of us started thinking really about religious stuff. But, later on, we can assume that this is something else. Especially, in the end, the resurrection scene has really had something to do with the mystical (or super-scientific?) creatures.

Why are there three creatures? How do they choose the people to read the decree? Is it random? It is obvious that the chosen ‘sinner’ has no connection among them, and by the decree of a baby, we can surely say that this has nothing to do with God. God’s rules do not simply work that way. So, why the baby was chosen? We come up with some of our own explanations of Hellbound, these are-

1. Hellbound is purely a science fiction
2. The chosen ones are just random selection in this game of fear.
3. The resurrection has some connection with the failure of the three monsters (as they failed to kill the baby).
4. The monsters may be from the future world, and they tried to kill the baby because in the future the baby might become dangerous to some cult or a secret society.
5. The resurrected woman might be a savior to this dystopian world of Hellbound and she may pose danger to those monsters
6. The resurrected woman may hold some superpower.
7. The monsters are merely sentient beings, they are something like futuristic robots who are just following orders.
8. The religious fanatics will gain some ground over some new issues. This will create an atmosphere of tension regarding religion among the general population. That is, the show may be presented as a metaphor for real-world problems related to religions and extremism.
9. In the second season of Hellbound, we may see that there will a clash between ‘God’ and ‘Evil’ and confusion all over the battle.

So, now, we can hold our breath as there is a lot to come in the upcoming days. Hellbound’s second season is still not confirmed yet. Maybe, the possibility of further thrilling content on this show is relatively lower or there may be a risk of repetition, as we already saw several decrees and ‘punishment’ in the same manner.
