HOW TO APPLY FOR MEDICAL VISA IN INDIA

India has been playing a leading role in the South Asian medical system for decades. Thousands of people go India for treatment. Even more than 50% of medical tourists from Bangladesh travel to India for treatment.
In 2017, 220 thousand Bangladeshi nationals went to India for medical treatment. But, many people do not know how to apply for medical visa in India. Let’s know the application process. Then there will be no need for any additional complications or the help of an intermediary in the future.

What is Indian Medical Visa?

Basically it is a special visa system. Through which you can go to the neighboring country India for treatment. Or those who need it can travel to India for medical care. Indian medical visa is usually valid for six months. You can go back and forth to India maximum three times during this period. However, the visa can be renewed if the patient needs.
However, there have been some changes in this visa system during the Corona period. You will get a maximum visa of three months instead of currently six months. Apart from this, the patient will not be allowed to come and go more than once.
You must have an appointment letter from an Indian doctor to get a medical visa. Apart from this, one has to resort to some kind of doctor in Bangladesh as well.
The application process and the rules for submitting the required documents remain the same as before. Now let’s know how to apply. You have to follow few steps to apply.

Step 1 : Apply online

First of all you need to submit an application for medical visa online at IVAC. IVAC processes Indian visas worldwide.
The form should be filled with the required information in the application form. Your required documents may vary depending on the purpose of travel.

Step 2 : Necessary documents for medical visa

You need to submit some additional documents. These documents include copies of appointment letters with doctors, all your medical history, physical condition details and various test reports.

Step 3 : Other general visa documents

You need to collect some more documents to submit to IVAC. Notable documents are-

– Passport copy (must be valid for at least six months)
– Birth Registration Card or NID
– One copy of utility bill
– Bank Statement or Dollar Endorsement (Minimum 150 US Dollars, and minimum 20,000 Taka in case of Bank Statement)
– Credentials of professionalism

These documents must be collected along with the application form and the application must be submitted along with the necessary medical documents. Applicants can take the help of any mobile financial service provider to deposit the visa fee. Visa processing fee is 600 or 700 Bangladeshi Taka.
If everything goes well, the visa office will inform the applicant for the next step within a week.
