Jackfruit seeds are not only delicious but also packed with nutrients. They can be used in a variety of dishes — and yes, you can even cook them with loitta (bombay duck) dry fish! Here’s a simple recipe:

Ingredients & Preparation:
- Cut 150 grams of loitta dry fish into small pieces.
- On low heat, dry roast the fish in a pan until the smell comes out. Then remove from heat and soak in water.
- After 10–15 minutes, rinse the fish thoroughly.
Cooking Steps:
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté 1 cup of chopped onions.
- Once the onions soften, add:
- ½ teaspoon garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- Chili powder and salt to taste
Stir well.
- Add a little water and cook the spices until the oil separates.
- Add the dry fish pieces and jackfruit seeds. Stir everything together.
- Pour in a small amount of water (don’t add too much, or the ingredients may become mushy).
- When the water is mostly absorbed, add 2 tablespoons of chopped garlic and cover the pan.
- Cook while stirring occasionally until well roasted.
- Finally, add some green chilies before removing from heat.
Enjoy your flavorful and nutritious dish!
